PICC Line Cover FAQs
What is a PICC line cover and why do I need one?
A PICC line cover is a soft, stretchy fabric sleeve that fits over your peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC line) and the surrounding area of your upper arm. It keeps your line protected, your dressing secure, and your catheter out of sight — while adding a stylish touch to your recovery wardrobe. It's especially helpful for concealing your PICC line at work, school, social events, and during sleep.
Will this cover work for chemotherapy or long-term IV treatment?
Yes — our covers are popular with patients receiving chemotherapy, TPN, antibiotics, and other long-term IV therapies. They're designed for extended daily wear and are available in 70+ patterns so you can rotate covers and keep things fresh throughout a long treatment course.
Can I wear this cover while sleeping?
Yes. Our covers are soft and breathable enough for overnight wear. They help prevent your catheter tubing from snagging on sheets or pajamas, which is a common concern for PICC line patients during sleep.
How do I measure for the right size?
For the standard Bicep style, measure the circumference of your upper arm at the midpoint between your elbow and shoulder. Use a soft fabric tape measure for best results. See the size chart below for standard size guidance. For full arm styles or custom sizes, measure length, top width, and bottom width.
Will the cover interfere with my dressing changes or infusions?
Our covers are designed to slide on and off easily for quick access during dressing changes, flushes, and infusions. Always follow your healthcare provider's specific instructions for PICC line care. This is a decorative cover only — it is not intended to replace a bandage, dressing, or any other medical covering.
Can I shower with this cover on?
No — our fabric covers are not waterproof and should not be worn in the shower. For shower protection, we recommend our Waterproof PICC Line Shower Cover — a disposable, easy-on easy-off solution designed specifically for bathing with a PICC line.
Are custom sizes refundable?
Custom sizes are non-refundable, so please measure carefully before ordering. If you have sizing questions, contact us before placing your order.
